Ocean Basket has officially opened its doors at Reem Mall, Abu Dhabi, and we were invited to experience the restaurant on its opening day. Known globally for its relaxed seaside vibe and generous seafood portions, the Reem Mall location delivers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels casual yet polished—perfect for family dining or a laid-back meal with friends.
Ambience & Service
The space is bright and inviting, with a clean coastal aesthetic that instantly puts you in a holiday mood. Service on opening day was attentive and friendly, with staff keen to explain the menu and ensure everything ran smoothly—always impressive for a brand-new launch.
Food Highlights
- House Bread
A great way to start—warm, soft, and perfect for sharing. Simple, comforting, and a strong opening note. Loved the spicy chimichurri dip that gave the bread a great flavor.
- Feta Salad & Sushi Sampler
Fresh, crisp, and well-balanced. The creamy feta paired beautifully with the vegetables, making it a light yet flavourful starter along with the selection of freshly made sushi, a perfect way to get started
- Shrimp Tacos
One of the standouts. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavour, complemented by fresh toppings that added both texture and brightness.
- Cajun Platter
Bold, satisfying, and full of character. The Cajun seasoning brought a pleasant heat without overpowering the seafood, making this a must-try for spice lovers.
- Thai Seafood Curry
Rich, aromatic, and comforting. The curry had a lovely depth of flavour with tender seafood throughout—easily one of the most memorable dishes of the meal.

Classic and well-executed, with a good balance of coffee and creaminess. - Craqueline
Light, crisp, and indulgent, offering a nice contrast to the richer dishes enjoyed earlier.

Refreshing and fruity, with just the right level of sweetness—ideal for pairing with seafood and perfect for Abu Dhabi’s warm weather.

Ocean Basket at Reem Mall makes a strong debut. From flavourful seafood and comforting classics to refreshing drinks and friendly service, the experience exceeded expectations for an opening-day visit. It’s a welcome addition to Abu Dhabi’s dining scene and a spot we’d happily return to—whether for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner.
