Umm Al Emarat Park hosts the Thai Festival for the second consecutive year

Abu Dhabi’s favoritegreen destination, Umm Al Emarat Park, is bringing a fun-filled and cultural weekend by hosting the Thai Festival, organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Taking place from 09 to 11 December, the family-friendly festival will showcase different aspects of Thai culture and traditions.

With an exciting line-up of activities, the festival will host a series of cultural shows including Thai cooking shows, Muay Thai boxing shows and more exciting entertainment, and will be serving delicious Thai cuisines in addition to selling curated Thai products.

Rasha Kablawi, Head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department said: “We are very excited to collaborate once more with the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi to host the second edition of the Thai Festival.

Kablawi added: “Since its establishment in 1982, Umm Al Emarat Park has sought to engage in partnerships, events and activations that are community focused. This festival is just one of the many partnerships that Umm Al Emarat Park seeks to activate, as it enables every member of the community to be culturally exposed and connected with various parts of the world – allowing our visitors to experience what it’s like to be a part of a community other than their own.

Additionally, events like these also give cultural awareness and acceptance, which can help break down cultural barriers while interacting with people of different backgrounds. We look forward to continuing to offer our visitors culture experiences like the Thai Festival.”

H.E. Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the third edition of the Thai Festival in Umm Al Emarat Park, one of the largest and oldest parks in the heart of the capital city of Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Pouapinya added: “We look forward to welcoming you all to our Thai Festival 2022, which will be a great opportunity for you to enjoy immersive experiences and to get enriching glimpses of THAINESS that we will bring to you. There will be parades of cultural performances, activities, and workshops throughout the 3-day event to delight all the visitors with the vibrant and rich culture of Thailand, in addition to authentic Thai food and products for visitors to taste, shop, relax and enjoy.

It will be a perfect weekend destination for visitors of all ages.” Visitors interested to discover Thai Culture are invited to head to the Amphitheatre from 3 pm to 10 pm on December 09, and 10 am to 10 pm on December 10 and 11.
