Lion Dance Ceremony – January 22, 2023
The Lunar New Year gets underway at the hotel’s main entrance, with a traditional ‘Lion Dance’ ceremony performed on 22 January at 11:00 am. This practice dates back many centuries and begins with the dotting of the eyes bringing the lion to life.
The lions then sway to the rhythm of the beating drums before making their way through the entire Qaryat Al Beri complex. This ceremony is followed by a ‘Yee Sang’ toss that is set to bring prosperity as guests and the team at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi begin ‘The Year of the Rabbit’.

Award-winning Shang Palace, will host a collection of signature brunches, lunches and dinners featuring dishes handpicked by Chef Qiguo Su that are perfect for family reunions.
These menus are set to showcase dishes from the region that are household favourites to more complex flavours using the finest produce for those who seek a more elevated experience. Guests can also enjoy an ancient ‘Gongfu Tea Ceremony’ with our Tea Master Liu Ping whilst enjoying their meal.
