Excellent food and a stunning poolside setting make this an ideal family lunch.
A Friday lunch doesn’t get any more relaxed and charming than at the elegant Al Manzil Restaurant at the Al Raha Beach Hotel.
Nestled by the pool overlooking the Raha Channel inside the gated Al Raha Villas Al Manzil Restaurant is truly a hidden gem offering an al fresco BBQ lunch with a relaxed family ambiance.
The Food
The food is a blend of international and contemporary Middle Eastern with the focus being their fresh seafood and kebabs grilled to order and served tableside.
The theme is nautical with huge boat wheels, fish nets and clam shells adorning the area.
Neatly arranged cabanas greet you as you enter, first up is the bread section serving a myriad of freshly baked breads to satisfy any requirement all neatly displayed behind glass waiting to be sampled.
Next are two cabanas, the first serving a delectable array of Arabic mezze presented in a very creative style, some in mini cones some on small plates all looking just divine.
The starter selection continues with a crisp and clean display housing some delightfully presented creations that tasted as good as they looked, the Quail egg salad was a stunner as was the dried beef.
The star of the show was the Barbecue station, the freshest seafood awaits your grilling instructions. The tiger prawns were simply the juiciest we have had in a while.
A huge carving block features fresh rotisserie chicken carved in front of you and served on a bed of grilled vegetables. There is a shawarma grilling away on the side waiting to be shaved and stuffed into fresh pita.
As you move along you arrive at the skewer selection, choose form the classics, what will it be Sir, shish tawook or lamb tikka, they have it all. We loved the Tandoori chicken tikka and the colorful veggie skewers were a delight.
There is a selection of Indian style rice with condiments waiting for you and don’t forget to top up on the roasted root veggies and fries for the kebabs.
The dessert section is to die for, the kids will go crazy at the chocolate fountain where the Chef is always willing to accommodate any requests.
There is a full compliment of Arabic desserts that are just stunning, the Umm Ali was fresh and piping hot, the Baklawa was decadent.
Right next to this is the most amazing display of classic western desserts, the chocolate mousse and the coffee tiramisu were decadent.
The variety is so extensive that we had to keep making multiple visits to sample the delights.
Lounging by the pool filling up on these decadent desserts we were in heaven. Then things get even better when the Shisha is served!
The Verdict
We were quiet impressed by the food, the weather was perfect and the gorgeous setting facing the pool couldn’t have gotten any better.
The presentations were simply stunning and we just loved the quiet and friendly service.
This is the prefect lazy, poolside BBQ lunch for you and your family, do head on over and give it a go while the weather is good.
