A sweet combination of restaurant and candy shop with a funky modern ambiance
The Sugar Factory is small little trendy place with two rows of tables and a very cool and hip decor located in WTC Mall. Kind of a mix of restaurant and candy store with really cheerful staff.
We were seated quickly and menus offered with a bowl of chips and a dip to much on.
The Food
The menu is extensive covering breakfast, burgers, salads, steaks and desserts with Pizzas and Pasta as well.
Our Order
Thai Green Curry – This was a huge portion on a big tray with all sorts of sauces and garnishes. The curry itself was in the bowl with the rice and was actually white in color. The taste was great and we loved the tender bits of chicken in it and the intense coconut flavor.
Beef Sundae -Tender melt in your mouth bits of beef brisket with croutons, mash potato’s and gravy. The brisket was moist and tender the mash perfect only complaint was the dish was kind of on the sweet side given the BBQ sauce base. A bit of heat would make it fantastic.
Chicken Risotto – Came in a funky round bowl fragrant with cheese and mushrooms. The dish was just perfect in taste and flavor and the Risotto rice just the right texture.
Verdict
It’s a great place for a fun meal. The menu is extensive the presentation of each dish is fantastic with taste to match.
Service could be a bit more attentive but the staff is extremely friendly. The manager came over to esquire if we were enjoying ourselves which was nice.
All in all a great experience, perfect for a meal anytime of the day or to meet friends over a coffee to indulge yourself.
