Iftar at The Terrace on the Corniche, St. Regis, Abu Dhabi – Review

A superb Iftar that ranks amongst the best in Abu Dhabi, highly recommended.

The Iftar Buffet at The Terrace on the Corniche is truly a special and unique experience. What sets it apart from the others is the unique dishes on the menu, the exceptional quality of the food, the stunning setting, and the impeccable service.

Just off the lobby of the grand St. Regis, Abu Dhabi, the Terrace definitely lives up to its name with amazing views of the Corniche and beyond, offering diners the option to dine indoor or on ten terrace enjoying the weather and the views.

From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by friendly staff who show you to your table and offer you refreshing drinks to begin your meal. The ambiance is sophisticated and elegant, with a mix of traditional and modern decor that perfectly complements the overall atmosphere.

The Food

But what really makes this iftar buffet special is the food. The chefs at The Terrace on the Corniche have crafted an extensive menu that showcases the best of Arabic cuisine, with a focus on the rich flavours and spices of the region.

There are multiple buffet stations, including a shawarma station, a salad and soup station, a bread station, a Tandoori grill where you can watch the chefs prepare your kebabs right in front of you

The buffet features a wide range of hot and cold dishes, including soups, salads, mezze, main courses, and desserts, all beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.

Right from the start we were impressed by the variety and presentation, there was a Fisherman’s Soup, amazing, the salads had unusual things like avocado hummus and others all absolutely fresh with perfect presentations

The dishes on the menu are the real game changer here, there was an amazing lamb mansaf that totally floored us, we can’t remember when we had mansaf of this standard at any Iftar.

The other highlights were the succulent kebabs that just meted in your mouth and in the whole bakes Souman was another spectacular dish, and we loved soft lamb meat in the Lamb Ouzzi perfectly cooked.

A variety of drinks from the traditional Ramadan drinks to mocktails, fresh juices, coffee and of course, water are included in the buffet, our server, Thirupati, ably guided us with his suggestions on the mocktails.

The Desserts

The dessert section, let’s rephrase, the dessert buffet is incredible, the biggest we have ever seen at any Iftar, from traditional desserts from across the GCC to international favourites they had it all superbly presented.

Complementing the decadent cakes, tiramisu, chocolate fondue and traditional sweets, guests will find baklava, artisanal gelatos, fresh fruit platters and comforting and cosy hot umm ali, kunafa, sticky date pudding and many more indulgent homemade desserts.

One thing that really impressed us was the attention to detail that the staff put into every aspect of the meal. The dishes were always replenished promptly, and the servers were constantly checking in to make sure everything was to our liking. Their informative suggestions and knowledge about the food was a nice touch.

In conclusion, if you are looking for an iftar buffet that offers exceptional food, a stunning setting, and impeccable service, then look no further than The Terrace on the Corniche. It is truly an experience that is not to be missed.
