An annual favourite menu returns with a renewed edition, honouring Cantonese traditions and showcasing the richness of locally sourced ingredients from across the UAE.

As part of its yearly calendar of signature experiences, Michelin-starred Hakkasan Abu Dhabi unveils the 2025 edition of its Cantonese Journey. The refined menu pays tribute to the essence of Cantonese cuisine, spotlighting the culinary traditions of Guangdong through modern techniques and regionally sourced ingredients. Available from 15th May to 15th July 2025, the set menu is priced at AED 398 per person.

The Menu
Curated by Executive Chef Lee, the three-course menu opens with a refined dim sum trio featuring chicken and prawn shui mai, morel mushroom, and lotus peach gel. This is followed by a vibrant local sea prawn and iceplant salad, complimented by pickled carrot, pomelo, and sesame macadamia, all brought together with a vegan XO chilli dressing. A crispy vegetable spring roll adds the perfect finishing touch to the first course.

For the mains, the menu moves into bolder territory with jasmine tea–smoked Szechuan mala chicken and wok-fried grouper in a rich mushroom sauce, crafted with sustainably sourced Arabian Sea grouper and regionally farmed mushrooms.

An earthy Sanpei button mushroom with organic collard and cuttlefish purée adds depth, while dry shrimp egg fried rice, blended with together sweetcorn, edamame, and olive leaves, offers a harmonious and balanced finish.

The dessert offers a refined meeting of cultures, where crispy pistachio cheese kunafa is paired with tangy yoghurt ice cream – an unexpected combination that lands a sophisticated twist to a beloved regional classic.

Drink Pairing
Elevating the experience further, the menu is complemented by a thoughtfully curated kombucha pairing, part of Hakkasan Abu Dhabi’s ongoing collaboration with Yala Kombucha. Guests can choose from three bespoke blends – lychee and hibiscus, yuzu and chilli, or lavender and rosemary – each crafted to harmonise beautifully with the menu’s layered umami notes. Kombucha is available at AED 42 per bottle.
