We get a Mandi takeaway form the famous Najd Palace Khalifa Park Area.
Najd Palace is one of the better Arabic / Mandi restaurants in Abu Dhabi with one branch in the city and this other one in the Khalifa Park Area. Having heard their Mandi was awesome we really had to give it a try.
Stopped over last evening and decided to do a quick takeaway. Its a nice clean and spacious venue with a huge dining area on the first floor that was warm and inviting but it was easier to grab and go for this visit.
The menu is quiet extensive covering breakfast, lunch and dinner with some very interesting Yemeni items on it as well, marked for the next visit! They have a nice team who will bring you a cup of traditional Arabic Coffee and take your order curbside which is a nice touch.
The Food
We ordered a Chicken Mandi, a Chicken Mathbi and a Fattoush Salad on the side. The food was ready in a very short while and they sent their card machine so payment was also a breeze.
The food was neatly packaged in a sturdy paper bag with disposable spoons and there was a neat little monogrammed tablecloth that you can spread on your carpet and eat on the floor in traditional style which was very nice.
There were little boxes of salsa and a yoghurt sauce for the mandi and the salad had a tangy Pomegranate and Olive Oil dressing that gave it a fantastic flavor.
The Chicken Mandi was a good size serving of rice with half a roasted chicken on top garnished with fired onions, the rice was fragrant and delicious and the chicken itself was perfectly cooked, soft, just falling off the bone, it was a really great mandi.
The Chicken Mathbi was even better, the charcoal grilled chicken had a lovely smoky and charred flavor which went really well with the flavors of the rice and the generous helping of grilled onions gave it that extra punch, we really loved this one too.
The Verdict
Having tired the mandi form their city venue which was nowhere near this we are happy to say we have found a great new go to place for our mandi cravings. The food was just fantastic and for AED 35 a serving that feeds two its a steal.
Looking forward to many more visits and working our way thru the menu, the next visit will be to try the Lamb Mathbi and some of the Yemeni Cuisine.
