Azucar
COYA Abu Dhabi is thrilled to turn up the heat for summer and host yet another sizzling edition of its fun-filled live music night, ‘Azucar’. Uniting music lovers, dancers and socialites for one sizzling night of uplifting tunes, the six-piece band Cubache is guaranteed to have every guest up on their feet dancing.
With the next edition of the monthly event coming up on Tuesday, July 5th from approximately 9pm onwards, Cubache will be playing an addictive fusion of Latin and Afro rhythms influenced by Spanish, French and Afro Cuban cultures. Originating from Cuba, the award-winning band have already delighted countless guests at COYA Dubai with their electric hits, and now they are thrilled to bring their catchy and happy tracks to the UAE capital.
Taking place within the elegant and stylish ambiance of the Pisco Bar, guests are invited to lose themselves in the uplifting allure of live music. Delicious Peruvian bar bites will also be available in the Pisco Bar, while guests on the terrace and in the restaurant are invited to dine on the full array of sumptuous à la carte options, including juicy Wagyu beef baos, tiger prawns, salmon maki rolls and crispy yuca croquettes.
The July edition of ‘Azucar ‘will burst into life on Tuesday, July 5, from 9pm onwards. Reservations for tables are recommended. Beverages and bar snacks are available at the Pisco Bar, with the restaurant and terrace available for à la carte dining.
Amigos de COYA Volume 5 – guest bartending series with Barro Negro
Furthering its dedication to the art of mixology and providing endless good times, COYA Abu Dhabi and COYA Dubai are thrilled to host the fifth edition of the world-renowned guest bartending event, Amigos de COYA.
Taking place on Thursday, July 21 at COYA Abu Dhabi, the vibrant and lively Pisco Bar is welcoming guest bartender Stelios Papadopoulos, co-owner of the edgy and electric Barro Negro bar in Athens, Greece, and inviting him to treat guests to some of his exceptional refreshing mixes.
A global brand ambassador for Jose Cuervo, Stelios excels in creating delicious and innovative cocktails that highlight the unique flavours of authentic Mexican tequila and mezcal.
Featured in the prestigious World’s 50 Best Bar List 2021, Barro Negro is one of the Greek capital’s most iconic haunts. Famed for its deep knowledge and understanding of Mexican beverages, the cutting-edge venue is passionately dedicated to honouring the joyful colours, flavours and vibes of Mexico.
Now, Stelios is on a mission to introduce the people of Abu Dhabi to the magical world of agave spirits. Available for one night only, his special bespoke drinks have been created just for COYA Abu Dhabi and COYA Dubai. Presenting a fusion of vibrant contemporary cocktails and traditional recipes, every concoction is oozing with style and class.
Amigos de COYA Volume 5 with Barro Negro will take place on Monday, July 18 at COYA Dubai and Thursday, July 21 at COYA Abu Dhabi. Walk-ins are welcome and drinks are priced á la carte.
Pisco and ceviche masterclass
For those who are looking for an extra special weekend experience, COYA Abu Dhabi’s legendary Pisco and Ceviche Masterclass will be bursting into life once again on Sunday, July 24.
A glorious exploration through Peruvian Cuisine, the immersive event invites food and beverage connoisseurs to learn how to mix sweet and refreshing Pisco sours, Latin America’s most famous cocktail, and create three flavour-filled ceviches, the iconic national dish of Peru.
Starting in the Pisco Bar, the expert bar team begin by explaining the history behind the Pisco, and demonstrating the craftsmanship behind it. Then, once each guest has prepared their delicious concoction, the experience is moved on through to the restaurant, where COYA’s highly skilled chefs present the fabulous traditions and techniques behind the wonderful tastes of ceviche.
Using a vast array of fresh and quality ingredients, guests can immerse themselves in three delicious recipes: classic ceviche with seabass, salmon ceviche, and spicy tuna ceviche.
Then, after the masterclass has concluded, participants are invited to enjoy a delicious three-course lunch full of COYA favourites. This includes starters like guacamole, corn salad, and wagyu beef baos, plus mains such as grilled corn-fed baby chicken, slow cooked beef ribs and Chilean sea bass rice iron pot.
Finally, the journey ends with a helping of authentic churros and milk chocolate sauce, or Chicha Morada.
The Ceviche and Pisco Masterclass will take place on Sunday, July 24, from 12.30pm to 4pm, priced AED 330 per person.

The after-brunch cocktails and grapes for COYA’s guests are priced at AED 45. With hops priced at AED 35.
