Zeera by Buddha-Bar: A Multi-Sensory Feast of Modern India Gastronomy

Seeking a vibrant celebration to mark Eid al Fitr, we ventured into Zeera by Buddha-Bar. This flagship venue hails from Capital Motion, the capital’s renowned hospitality group known for its exceptional experiences.

Masterminded by the flamboyant Mario Samaha, known for his impeccable taste, Zeera promises to be the crown jewel not only of his impressive collection but of Yas Bay itself.

With its blend of playful Indian flavors and a lively atmosphere, this spot seemed like the perfect place to commemorate the end of Ramadan. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Their Eid dinner buffet and show, coupled with a ringside view of the Eid fireworks erupting just across the water from the restaurant’s patio, made Zeera an irresistible Eid night option.

Forget your traditional Indian restaurant image – Zeera is all about vibrant colors, modern design, and a soundtrack that makes you want to move. But the true magic unfolds when you step onto the outdoor patio.

Nestled at the very edge of Pier 71, Yas Bay’s collection of superb dining options, Zeera boasts the most spectacular setting possible. The open-plan seating flows seamlessly onto a charming patio with a trickling fountain, all leading your gaze to the breathtaking views of Abu Dhabi across the water.

Here, the resident DJ’s beats create a vibrant energy, captivating dancers weave their magic, and the panoramic vista takes your breath away. It’s a full sensory experience that sets the stage for a truly memorable meal.

Zeera takes the bar experience seriously! Their drinks menu is vast, catering to even the most discerning palate. The wine list boasts an exceptional and unique selection, while their expert mixologists have crafted a dazzling array of signature cocktails exclusive to Capital Motion venues. Prepare for an adventure in flavors!

We opted to explore some of their signature creations, and we weren’t disappointed! The “Mumbai Mule” was a delightful twist on the classic Moscow Mule, served in a copper mug and infused with the subtle warmth of zeera (cumin).

For those who enjoy fruity drinks, the “Bella” offered a visually stunning and refreshing option with its bright red color and tall stem glass presentation. The “Yas Baby, Yas” was a true taste of Yas Island, featuring a vibrant blend of spiced passion fruit and pineapple.

The Eid buffet was a culinary journey across India, and we loved the interactive touch of the ‘mix your own samosa chaat’ station. The apple salad added a refreshing contrast to the richer dishes. For mains, the chicken biryani was fragrant and flavorful, while the lamb curry and butter chicken delivered those classic Indian comforts with finesse.

But the true showstopper was their Tandoori Kebab sampler that comes in a metre or half metre sizes ! This dramatic dish arrives with fanfare – a server carries the half meter long board loaded with kebabs and another follows with the chutneys ringing a bell, the sizzling kebabs and the fanfare turned heads throughout the restaurant. The accompanying garlic butter naan was the perfect vehicle for all those delicious flavors.

In keeping with the Buddha-Bar reputation, the staff were attentive and helpful in explaining the buffet selections and adding to the drama of our tandoori experience. They ensured a smooth dining experience, even with the holiday crowd.

Zeera by Buddha-Bar is perfect for those seeking an Indian dining experience that goes far beyond the plate. It’s a place to indulge all your senses, with vibrant flavors, stunning views, and lively entertainment. As the flagship venue of a renowned hospitality group, it’s especially appealing for those who want a night out that is exclusive and unforgettable, making it perfect for celebrations or groups with diverse tastes.
