Brunching in Abu Dhabi will never be the same again with the return of this fabulous brunch at Kuzbara, Marriott Downtown.
One of our favourite brunches in Abu Dhabi is finally back, the delightful Eat Play Laugh Brunch at Kuzbara, Marriott Hotel Downtown, and off we are to give it a try.
The Marriott Downtown, situated in the heart of Abu Dhabi has some many exciting venues that we love is finally coming back to life, we were at the opening of At25 recently, the highest open lounge offering stunning views across Abu Dhabi and loved the vibe,
The Venue
As we get off the elevator and head to Kuzbara we can hear music and peals of laughter and by the door, the kid’s play area is buzzing with little ones busy enjoying themselves, all great pointers to a lively brunch.
Kuzbara is a bright, airy and colourful venue with a wall of glass on one side facing the road, so you can enjoy views of the traffic passing by when you are at your table.
It’s an international brunch, and we can see the line of different stations snaking its way to the back, at the very front is the famous Gin trolley all ready to serve guests.
Our table is by the window wall and as we are shown to the seats we notice a nice personal touch, there is a neat little nameplate displaying our name and a set of funky Kuzbara masks waiting for us, so delightful.
We settle down, order some drinks and are off to sample the buffet, there is no much on offer, so we really need to be careful not to fill up too early.
The Food
We start with at the cheese station, the variety is quite extensive, and the presentation is excellent, we get a sampler platter featuring at the favourites and are not disappointed.
There is so much to choose form, It’s hard to decide where to go next, so we head to the nearest station which is the raw seafood display. The oysters are absolutely fresh and the shrimp plump and juicy, perfect.
There is another seafood station where you can choose the type of fish or lobster you want, and they cook it for you and serve it at the table, we had some lobster tails done for us poached in butter, and they were divine.
The buffet is on in full swing, It’s not too crowded, but most of the tables are taken, we stop at the sushi counter and grab a plate, it’s fresh and delicious.
The salad selection is extensive and neatly displayed with a range of sauces and toppings on offer, there are the classic international salads, we loved the shrimp and mango salad and the Thai chicken salad was an absolute star.
In the centre is a selection of Arabic mezze, the hummus and the cauliflower salad are the highlights here.
There is also a build your own salad bar with a cornucopia of ingredients, so you can keep experimenting till you hit the taste that suits your palate.
We head on over to the colourfully decorated Indian station, the gleaming brass vessels are a sight to behold, and we are amazed at the rows and rows of condiments and chutneys on offer, all in their own neat brass containers.
We get some pav bhaji with a load of toppings and some butter chicken and rice, the food is absolutely on point as if it’s a pure Indian restaurant.
By this time we are really in the groove and loving it, the Gin trolley is wheeled over, and we are offered some very interesting mixed drinks table side, it’s a show worth watching.
Now it’s time to get serious, so we head on over to the grill and help ourselves to some thick slices of beef ribs along with some Cornish pastries, grilled veggies and mash. It’s a whole meal in itself.
We also stop at the Asian station for some steamed dumplings stuffed bao, flavours are absolutely amazing.
There is a Mexican side to this as well with Tacos, fresh guacamole, nachos and more, but we are absolutely stuffed so just get a small dribble of the guacamole.
We end this feat of gluttony at the last station, which has traditional favourites like osso buco. Thai curies and some Lebanese as well. The osso buco was absolutely amazing, melted when we stared at it, actually.
The Desserts
There is an amazing dessert selection that’s absolutely over the top with the choices available, on one counter are macaroons and little cakes in tiered stands.
A churro station is at hand, serving hot and fresh Mexican churros.
A chocolate fountain awaits to thrill the kids and elders alike.
Then there are the classic cakes and desserts, so much of them that we feel this could be a buffer in itself for another day.
The Verdict
The Eat Play Laugh Brunch is even better than before now with a refreshed selection of food, great drinks and awesome desserts. The service is as attentive as you need, and the food tastes fantastic at every station.
We loved the presentation and the attention to detail at every counter. The staff is super friendly and make sure you enjoy yourself.
It was an amazing experience, and we will definitely back soon with some friends as well, highly recommend a visit before everyone learns of its value, and it gets sold out.
