Our favourite Asian has finally opened close to home, and it was definitely worth the wait
Wagamama, one of our top favourites for finger licking good ramen, teppanyaki and curries has finally opened a location close to home, we finally managed to pop in over the weekend and had a memorable evening.
The Venue
Set in a corner all the way towards the back of the new Waitrose Mall in Khalifa City, it’s a well-appointed venue with nice outdoor seating that is going to be a huge attracting as the weather cools, great choice of location.
From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, modern decor, and friendly staff, the manager, Vishnu shows us around and lets us choose where to sit, the outside seating won hands down.
The Food
As we settled in our drinks we served, my cloudy lemonade was just the perfect balance between sweet and tart, the signature iced tea, absolutely spot on and so was the strawberry lemonade for the missus.
We started our meal with the steamed chicken gyoza, and it exceeded our expectations. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and the dipping sauce added an extra layer of deliciousness.
For mains, we ordered three dishes, and each one was a masterpiece. The chili ramen with strips of medium well steak had a rich and spicy broth that was infused with the flavors of the steak.
The sushi platter was a beautiful assortment of fresh and delicious sushi rolls and nigiri looked like a piece of art and our son loved it, especially the shrimp ones with the whole tempura shrimp on top.
The Korean bulgogi beef with noodles was the star of the show, with tender and juicy beef and perfectly cooked noodles that brought the dish together.
We ended our meal on a high note with the Spanish cheesecake. It was a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavours, with a light and fluffy texture and a crispy crust that added a nice crunch.
The Verdict
Overall, our experience at Wagamama was fantastic. The food was exceptional, the service was great, and the atmosphere was charming. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect dining experience in Khalifa City Abu Dhabi, we will be back soon.
