Understanding the future of Lamborghini with its CEO, Stephan Winkelmann

Shivaum Punjabi meets  Stephan Winkelmann and talk to him about what is in store for us from Lamborghini’s side.

Dubai is known for its glamorous lifestyle, fancy restaurants, luxurious shopping, award-winning architecture, and car culture. What better place than Dubai for Lamborghini to open its brand new flagship showroom. Well, technically, the showroom is old and underwent a renovation, so it is a reopening of the showroom. And what a showroom it is, the worlds largest Lamborghini showroom.

Situated on the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road of Dubai, the showroom is a three-story structure spanning 891 square meters. The renovation costs a whopping two million Euros, and the building houses the showroom, pre-owned section and service centre. If you are an auto enthusiast, the showroom is a must-visit.

Mr Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of Lamborghini, flew down to Dubai to inaugurate the new showroom. The UAE is the 5th largest market globally for Lamborghini, which warrants the high profile visit. Italy’s market is in direct competition for the 5th position with the UAE.

Besides letting us know that Lamborghini had a stellar year in sales, we also got some insight into what cars are being launched in the upcoming years. We will see a new derivative of the Huracan and a plug-in hybrid version of the Urus in 2022. 2022 is also the last year that we will see ICE from Lamborghini. Coming to 2023, we will be seeing the new successor of the Aventador, and yes, it is a hybrid car.

There will also be a 2+2 GT car, which will be Lamborghini’s first-ever full EV car. I strongly suspect that it will be based around the Porsche Taycan. Other than this, Lamborghini also wants to cut down on its CO2 emissions. They even are pro synthetic fuels and are doing a ton of research on the application, production and distribution.

Lamborghini launched a special pop-up at the ME Hotel in Business Bay in other big news. Hotel guests are treated to a Urus outside the hotel and an STO inside the lobby premises. The hotel is also a masterpiece in expression, style and design. Situated on the second floor of this building is the brand new Ad Personam studio, where clients can fully personalize their cars and choose every detail.

The lounge will be open till the 17th of January and will be available to friends, customers and fans of the brand. Feel free to go there see some cars, spec your dream, Lamborghini, check out some products from lifestyle partners such as Roger Dubuis or just have a coffee. Obviously, COVID protocols will be in place, so make sure to check before going.

The CEO Stephan Winkelmann tells us all about the Ad Personam Lounge in the below video. Did you also know that a local property developer, Emaar, is building Lamborghini themed villas here in Dubai, and they all are sold out?
