Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi invites to enjoy a specially curated menu and meet acclaimed chef, Chatchai Klanklong, from 10 to 13 March at the hotel’s Vietnamese restaurant, Hoi An.
The Shangri-La’s Culinary Master Series returns with its first edition in 2022. These unique gourmet pop-up events, featured throughout the year, host show stopping gastronomical experiences curated by globally acclaimed chefs.
This March, Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi will host chef Chatchai Klanklong from L’Orchidée based in Alsace, renowned for being the only Thai restaurant to be awarded a star in the Michelin Guide, France 2019. The acclaimed chef will host a collection of dining experiences from 10 to 13 March 2022 and an exclusive cooking class for those looking for a more hands-on experience. Guests will enjoy Chef Chatchai’s culinary craft which is inspired by his upbringing in Petchabun and memories of watching his mother prepare Thai food from scratch.
The exclusive five-course menu features hand-selected dishes elevated by the freshest produce, kicking off with Red Tuna with Soy Sauce, Ginger and Avocado followed by a stunning Egg Yolk Confit with Black Truffles, Crispy Bread and Hazelnut Butter, a treat for the eyes and palate alike. Diners are also set to delight in the Tom Yam soup with Lobster and a main course of Milk Lamb with Cabbage and Satay Sauce before being treated to a tropical dessert that incorporates Wild Mango, Passion Fruit and Coconut.
“I am passionate about creating elevated dining experiences that bring together my culinary expertise amassed over the years whilst paying homage to my treasured heritage. This menu I believe represents just that,” Chef Chatchai says about his menu for the upcoming pop-up. The culinary maestro also looks forward to guiding a few eager home cooks during an exclusive class with must-see tips on culinary technique and presentation.
The exclusive five-course set menu will be available from 10 to 13 March 2022 at 7 p.m. for AED448 per person with soft beverages and AED696 with wine pairing. The Michelin-starred chef will also host daily cooking classes in Hoi An’s kitchen from 1 to 3 p.m. at AED172 per person, limited to a maximum of 5 participants.
