Rasoi Ghar is finally here in Abu Dhabi

Head on over to Yas Mall to enjoy a home style North Indian Thali meal.

Finally the wait is over, Rasoi Ghar, our favorite North Indian Thali restaurant from Dubai has finally opened their first location in Abu Dhabi and we are glad to say the food is just finger licking good.

The Venue

Situated in Yas Mall by the entrance to Ferrari World Rasoi Ghar has a bright and cheerful look that just beckons diners to come in and enjoy the food and hospitality.

There are traditional floor seating options on one side where you get to sit on plump pillows and eat on low tables or you can ask for a regular table as well.

As you take your seat one of the staff will come over and offer you a traditional Indian style hand wash right at your table before you start your meal.

The Order

Rasoi Ghar is an all you can eat thali concept, with a set menu that changes daily. The Thali meal includes starters, mains, desserts and a selection of drinks to accompany the meal.

The food is a blend of Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal produce cooked in a classic homestyle and served by a team of friendly staff who make you feel like you are guests in their home, the service is just out of this world.

The welcome drink was a Lemon Mint Sharbat, tart and sweet and a trio of starters appeared in no time.

There was a selection of classic Gujarati Dhokla, the Daal Dhokla stole the show followed by the Pav Bhaji Dhokla that was like a mini sandwich and then there was a mini green pea kachori which was just amazing.

They kept insisting we have seconds which we couldn’t resist and the accompanying chutneys were a perfect match to the starters.

Soon the starters were cleared and we got ready for serious eating, the sparkling thali was presented and we were served a Masala Chaas as an accompanying drink for the mains.

A series of waiters showed up and soon all the little bowls were filled with some of the best north Indian vegetarian food we have ever had in Abu Dhabi.

There was a decadent Paneer Kholapuri which had the freshest Paneer flown in form Mumbai that kept us asking for more. The Dudhi Vatana Tamatar was a unique dish we just loved.

There were three types of bread, a classic chapati, a fried poori and a Makai roti that was served with butter and jaggery, hot and fresh, tasted amazing.

Accompanying all this is a classic Gujarati Kadhi, a Marwadi style Kadhi along with both a Gujarati and Marwadi style dal and the servings are endless.

The rice course was offered next, four varieties each on a small platter, the Corn Capsicum Pulao was a standout followed by the Khichdi and the Curd rice which went well with all the different types of dal and the chutneys.

The staff kept filing our plates and we just couldn’t help eating all this delicious food and enjoy the hospitality.

The thali was finally cleared to make way for the desserts, not one but three of them.

There was a delectable apple halwa and the classic Malpua with Rabdi followed by a decadent piece of hot Shrikhad. All the three were stunning, not to sweet or cloying but just right which was so refreshing.

The Verdict

Rasoi Ghar definitely lives up to its reputation delivering exceptional food simply cooked and served with a passion. The food is great, the taste is exceptional and the service is outstanding.

Great value for money and a place you will love to visit again and again with family and friends.

There is no hurry, you are treated like family and the food just flows effortlessly making each visit a memorable one.

So the next time you are in Yas Mall this is the place to dine at, we will definitely be back soon.
