Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers further cements its position as a leading culinary destination by winning at the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi awards and presenting exclusive MICHELIN Star Table
Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers is thrilled to announce that it has been listed in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi as one of the most impressive culinary hotspots in the city.
Unveiled in a lavish ceremony in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, November 10, Latin American restaurant VaKaVa and Arabic restaurant Li Beirut both secured places in the world-renowned dining guide.
Adding further recognition, the Forbes Five Star hotel was also honoured with the coveted Service Award for the hard work of Restaurant Manager Rawad Hamdan and his team at Li Beirut. With only three special awards handed out throughout the entire night, the accolade is a testament to the dedication of the elegant restaurant’s skilled team.
VaKaVa and Li Beirut join only 40 other restaurants from across the UAE capital who have been honoured with a spot on the prestigious list. All the winners were selected by the Michelin Guide’s expert team of anonymous food inspectors, and Abu Dhabi now becomes the 41st city in the world to be covered by the iconic guide.
Latin American Series: Vakava x Mono
In celebration of these amazing achievements, VaKaVa is proud to host an immersive ‘four-hands’ dinner as part of the first MICHELIN Star Table Experience Abu Dhabi, set to take place from December 9th and 10th.
Organised by the MICHELIN Guide and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the initiative is designed to celebrate the UAE capital’s amazing local dining scene.
Hosting two thrilling evenings dedicated to the vibrant flavours and aromas of Latin American cuisine, VaKaVA’s ‘Latin American Series: Vakava x Mono’ will showcase the amazing skills of two world-renowned chefs: Eber Villalobos, Chef De Cuisine of MICHELIN Selected Abu Dhabi 2023 VaKaVa, and Chef Ricardo Chaneton, one MICHELIN-star chef, Hong Kong 2022.
Born and raised in Peru, Chef Eber worked at many five-star hotels across the UAE before bringing his talents and skills to VaKaVa, the Pan-Latin grill and lounge led by Mexican chef Richard Sandoval. Passionate about using fresh ingredients and inspired by his childhood memories of cooking with his mother and grandmother, his modern Mexican, Latin-Asian, Peruvian and Pan-Latin recipes are all made using inventive cooking techniques.
Meanwhile, Venezuelan Chef Ricardo Chaneton’s amazing career saw him take up roles at fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants in France, Spain and throughout Europe, before founding MONO, Asia’s first Michelin-starred Latin American restaurant in Hong Kong. By infusing traditional Latin American cuisine with his own French culinary knowledge, Chef Ricardo aims to promote a refined take on Latin American gastronomy.
Throughout the event, the two culinary masters will take guests on a multi-sensory voyage across the different terrains of Latin America, treating them to sumptuous, reimagined recipes that are native to each region.
Taking place at VaKaVa on December 9 and 10 from 8pm onwards, tickets for the ‘Latin America Series’ are available to purchase for AED 550 per person, with additional beverage pairing available for an extra AED 300.
VaKaVa Sunday Lunch
Providing the perfect way of sampling MICHELIN Star-worthy cuisine throughout the week, VaKaVa and Li Beirut also present an array of unmissable weekly dining experiences.
For instance, the new VaKaVa Sunday Lunch menu provides a spectacular selection of the Michelin Star-selected restaurant’s most enticing and vibrant dishes. Guests are encouraged to dine al fresco out on the terrace, admire the panoramic ocean views and treat their palettes to an explosion of different flavours, spices and textures.
Spanning starters like creamy, freshly made guacamole and light tuna tiradito, specialties such as salmon escabeche and beef tenderloin lomo saltado empanadas, and a sweet conclusion of authentic tres leches or silky avocado panna cotta, the leisurely and upbeat affair can be further enhanced with a choice of premium Latin American cocktails, beers and wines.
The VaKaVa al fresco Sunday Lunch is available to enjoy every Sunday from 1pm to 3pm. Packages per person start from AED 180 for three courses or AED 210 for four courses, while three selected beverages can be added on for AED 99 per person.
Li Beirut Layali Night Brunch
Furthermore, the Saturday Layali Night Brunch at the MICHELIN Guide-selected Li Beirut is always a magical experience.
Traversing the finest flavours of Lebanon, the awe-inspiring spread of authentic dishes is designed to stimulate the taste buds and spark intimate conversations. Offering seating in the dramatic dining room or out on the picturesque terrace set against views of the sparkling Arabian Gulf, the enrapturing dining voyage spans sharing-style appetisers of cold and hot mezze, juicy mixed grills, decadent Lebanese desserts, and more authentic signature specialties.
Set to an enchanting soundtrack provided by a live singer, every course is further enhanced with free-flowing refreshing house beverages and soft drinks, served by the restaurant’s award-winning team.
The Li Beirut Layali Night Brunch is available to experience every Saturday from 7pm to 11pm, priced AED 300 for soft beverages or AED 480 for house beverages.
Alongside the recent MICHELIN Guide accolades, Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers was also chosen to host the debut edition of the much-anticipated MENA’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards, held in February 2022. Further elevating its position as one of the UAE capital’s most tantalising culinary hotspots, the sophisticated hotel in the heart of Abu Dhabi ensured that the event was a success from start to finish.
