Friday Brunch at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr

Offering the best selection form three of their popular outlets the Friday Brunch at CuiScene packs a mighty punch.

Those in the know will agree the mighty Friday Brunch at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr defines what a brunch should be wowing diners from near and far for ages.

The Scene

We were so pleasantly surprised by how they have embraced diner’s safety and seamlessly adapted to the current needs with perfect poise and created a vibrant new brunch experience that sets the standards.

Lots of clever thinking has given way to a completely new dining experience that is as safe and as exciting as ever, both to the eye and to the palate.

There are no stacks of plates to grab or an array of salads and starters to help yourself to but instead you have live cooking stations behind aesthetically pleasing glass counters serving you what you request with a smile and a flourish, we are charmed.

The CuiScene

The Friday Brunch is a spectacle combining the best form three outlets, succulent steaks and roasts form the award-winning Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, fresh handmade pasta and noodles form Marco’s New York Italian and international delicacies form CuiScene , all of around 200 items await you.

As you walk down the long corridor towards CuiScene you are greeted by an endless line of cooking station, there’s the Taco stand followed by the scallop station giving way to the pasta counter and each will rustle up their specialty for you as per your request with stunning presentations.

The restaurant itself is buzzing and airy with well-spaced tables, bright colors music playing and smiling staff greeting you and taking you to your table. They will sit you down, serve a welcome drink and let you get down to business in no time.

The salads are in single serve plastic containers by the entrance with a server who will explain and guide you as you choose what tickles your fancy, the variety is endless, from lobster to Foie gars they have it all.

We walked over to the cheese counter, a huge variety of the finest cheeses from around the world greets you, we were offered a sampler platter that was a meal in itself with some strawberries and crackers, perfect way to start.

Next up is the seafood section, fresh oysters shucked right in front of you, lobster tails, king prawns, you name it and they have it for you, the personalized service and the knowledge of the team is amazing.

The sushi counter will rustle up your favorites right in front of you and then there is the poke section tantalizing your tastebuds with its fresh ingredients and offering some vegan delights adding to the variety on offer.

Move on and you will bump into the grill section, succulent bone in rib eye, rack of lamb, slivers of brisket with sides of Yorkshire puddings, mash potatoes with lashings of gravy await, we had to try them all. The rib eye is spot on, served medium rare to perfection with a sharp pepper sauce simply divine.

The sheer variety on offer is a testament to the three outlets featured and leaves you no excuse to keep away, the wok section was calling our name, black pepper beef with hand pulled noodles was irresistible.

We walked over to the Indian section and again the presentation and variety is staggering, they have something for everyone’s taste, the tandoori style lobster will make you come back for seconds, keep space for the prawn biryani with a dollop of butter chicken, don’t forget the lamb kebabs simply divine.

There is so much going on that the four hours the brunch is open will seem not enough and with the faultless table service leaving you with topped up glasses we felt thoroughly pampered.

The dessert section takes up a huge corner with some highly creative items like the pear which is not a pear but one would be totally fooled to think it was. The crème brulee is outstanding so is the Um Ali and best not to pass on the cheesecake, oh lets just have one of them all.

The Verdict.

We are happy to say the great Friday Bruch is live and well in the capable hands of the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. One would be hard pressed to fault them on any area, the food is as good or in some cases even better, the health and safety issues have been addressed so perfectly and the atmosphere is to die for.

All this in a classy waterfront setting with views of the Sheikh Zayed mosque while you enjoy a quality afternoon with friends and family is what makes the Fairmont Bruch a consistent winner, we are impressed and stuffed, please have us transported home.
