Kō, the impertinent brain child of the team that brought you award-winning brand 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant, will take residency at one of the UAE’s most iconic locations, Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara.
The take-overs will occur monthly, every last weekend of the month until June, starting Friday, February 23rd and Saturday, February 24th.
The elevated modern izakaya, or «stay-drink-place», promises to stay true to 99’s standards of excellence, Kō resonating with words like «success» and «achievement» in Japanese. Yet, Kō evolves with a unsatiable appetite for movement, innovation and vivacity.
Nestled on Anantara Qasr al Sarab’s impressive terrace, overlooking a landmark, the largest continuous sand desert in the world, “Kō will feature the award-winning haute Japanese cuisine of its Michelin-star mothership in a charismatic and elegant atmosphere,” explains Ninety Nine Investment LLC CEO Jaime Castaneda. “Expect fiery signatures, hot-kitchen classics, theatrical robatas, impeccably grilled meats along side a refined offering of flambéed sushi and makis for easy nibbling and social dining,” he continues.
Kō is set to become a social hotspot, a daring and infatuating playground for people on the go and in the know, with a vibrant speak-easy take on the bar and lounge scene, starting with these take-overs at an epic address if any, highly symbolic of the traditions and innovation of the Emirates.
In June, the venue will undergo a complete summer make-over, so Kō can settle permanently in the new winter season of 2024. It is time for higher Japanese taste and fearless creativity, in the heart of the desert, at Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara.
