As the UAE commemorates 50 years since unification, Al Maryah Island is gearing up for an array of cultural Emirati festivities to celebrate the Nation’s National Day Golden Jubilee.
This National Day, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi’s global financial and lifestyle destination, will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the unification of the UAE. Activities will educate and inspire people of all ages and take visitors on a journey along The Year of the 50th. The festival, running from Thursday 2nd – Friday 3rd December, will explore the unique history of the UAE and its achievements, unlock memories, and allow visitors to imagine and envision their own future.

As we continue our Founding Fathers legacy, we will be introducing projects and initiatives on Al Maryah Island that will further create value for the next 50 years and beyond”.
Over the years, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi’s all-in-one global financial and lifestyle destination, has welcomed a diverse mix of visitors from all nationalities, international partners and has offered countless opportunities that appropriately position the UAE on the global map for opportunities, innovation and diversity. The 50th UAE National Day Golden Jubilee celebration will present the UAE’s unique history to all the island’s visitors and allow participants to fully experience our nation’s rich heritage.
Amongst the many family friendly activities on offer at the festival, guests will get a chance to learn more about the UAE’s traditional and authentic skills and experiences including Candle and Fragrance making, and there will be an opportunity to meet and interact with Falcons.
Across both the festival, and the wider Island, roaming performers will interact and entertain visitors, including Al Rawnah (synchronized drums) and Camel Puppet Walkers amongst others. Firework displays and drone shows will close each day of the festival, encompassing the spectacular nature of the UAE and the pride of its people.
At The Galleria Al Maryah Island, the premier shopping and lifestyle destination, guests can receive a special commemorative gift with any spend of AED 200 at the mall. Guests can visit the majlis-themed installation on Level 2 near Caboodle and present their receipts to have their name handwritten by Arabic calligraphy artists on specially branded UAE 50th paper as a keepsake for the occasion. The festivities continue throughout the mall with must-see Instagrammable décor to create an immersive experience.
Out of the many places to celebrate, the UAE’s Golden Jubilee National Day, Al Maryah Island is the place to be.
This year, the National Day celebrations at Al Maryah Island will take place in a new space – across the Plaza Level – South, Al Maryah Island. The festival will be open to public between 4:30pm to 10:30pm from Thursday 2nd – Friday 3rd December.
Guests will be advised to adhere to COVID-19 safety precautions, including undergoing an EDE and a thermal examination upon entry, and presenting a negative PCR test within a period of 96 hours. Visitors will also be advised to wear masks at all times to ensure the health and wellbeing of visitors.
